The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Scotland has accepted Gordon Mann, OBE, as a Fellowship member in recognition of his services to property.
Gordon receives his membership through the Eminent Route, which is by nomination and only individuals recognised within the industry as a leader in their field, whose standing is beyond question and judged to be out of the ordinary, will be considered. Those invited to join as a result of being nominated through the Eminent Route are admitted directly to FRICS level, reflecting their standing and achievements.
Currently Chief Executive of The Crichton Trust in Dumfries, Gordon’s career spans over 40 years, predominantly in the field of Town Planning. A member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), he has also held Director of Planning posts at Dumfries & Galloway Council, Shetland Islands Council and Banff & Buchan Council.
Gordon commented: “It is an honour to be recognised by one’s peers in the property industry. RICS Scotland is an important and respected institution and to be admitted to its membership is a privilege.
“Having previously only been a member of the RTPI, becoming an RICS Scotland member means I can further expand my own knowledge and understanding of the property industry.”
Sarah Speirs, deputy director, RICS Scotland, added: “Gordon’s dedication to his work, in particular his pivotal role at the Crichton Trust, turning a derelict hospital into a unique university campus, business park and a conference and events facility, is a credit to him and the industry. We are delighted he has accepted the invitation to join RICS Scotland and know our membership will be able to benefit from his experience.”
