One of the country’s most recognised names in the food and beverage industry has announced plans to open a new coffee bar in Glasgow’s Buchanan Galleries.
Caffé Nero has taken a 1,162sq ft unit at the centre on a 10 year lease. The chain began in 1997 with five outlets across London and has grown significantly, now employing 3,000 people across 360 locations.
Buchanan Galleries is owned by Land Securities and Henderson Global Investors. On behalf of the partnership, Katherine Armstead said: “Caffé Nero will complement and strengthen the existing catering offer for our customers at Buchanan Galleries.”
Guy Mauduit, property consultant at Caffé Nero added: “Buchanan Galleries is the ideal location for us to expand upon our existing Glasgow outlets as it offers us representation at the top end of the city centre. Building on a strong presence already within Glasgow, this new store will enable us to reach a greater number of customers due to its presence on Sauchiehall Street and close proximity to John Lewis and the entrance to Buchanan Galleries."
CBRE acted for Buchanan Partnership whilst SGM Property acted for Caffé Nero. |
