Maclay Murray & Spens would be delighted if you could attend an event to consider tax efficient structures for acquiring, holding or preparing to sell investment property.
The property investment market has been one of the hardest hit throughout the recession but is gradually showing signs of recovery. In this tough climate, it is arguably even more essential to ensure your investments, either personal or corporate, are held in the most tax efficient structure.
The speakers Iain Macniven, Patricia Ritchie and Lorna Tutty, all of Maclay Murray & Spens LLP, will discuss the current trends in property investment generally and the opportunities available for potential new investments to acquire properties in a tax efficient structure as well as opportunities for those with property investments to restructure to maximise efficiency, or to minimise tax liabilities on a future sale.
Iain Macniven is a Partner in the Property Department. He has extensive experience of all aspects of commercial property work, including acquisitions and sales, leasing and development work, and acts for a wide variety of institutions, developers and local authorities. Amongst Iain's clients are ASDA, Dubai World, Clyde Gateway, Hammerson, Network Rail, Riverside Inverclyde, Rok, JD Wetherspoon and numerous other investment clients.
Patricia Ritchie is a Consultant Director in the Tax Department. She is a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser who has specialised in tax for over 25 years. She has extensive experience in tax planning particularly on the structuring of corporate and property reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals. Patricia also advises on stamp duty land tax planning.
Lorna Tutty is an Associate in the Tax Department. She is an experienced tax lawyer and chartered tax adviser. Her expertise combines legal drafting and tax planning skills. Lorna advises on a broad range of tax matters including stamp duty land tax planning and personal tax planning.
The presentation will be followed by an informal discussion.
