Aberdeen businesses are reaping the benefits of an innovative new training headquarters created for the city’s leading behavioural safety consultancy.
The recently rebranded Optimus Seventh Generation (previously Optimus Safety Management) has moved to new office premises in Arnhall Business Park in Westhill. The office was completed by Aberdeen-based architect and workplace design specialist Space Solutions.
The £150,000 project saw Optimus’s entire Aberdeen-based workforce relocate from their former base at Westhill Business Centre into new two-storey premises, which has been designed and fitted out to their specific requirements with brand new office and meeting facilities.
During the project, a multi-disciplinary team from Space Solutions – which included architects, space planners and interior designers - provided a complete turnkey service that involved designing, planning, managing and completely fitting-out the new office premises for Optimus.
The new headquarters contains a state of the art training and meeting centre which will be used to deliver client training and open courses on workplace health and safety – which had previously been held in hotel rooms and alternative venues in the city. The building will be home to the Optimus Academy, where the firm will continue to hone and develop the capability of its coaches, consultants and trainers.
David Marples, Group Operations Director with Optimus Seventh Generation, said that the new office was an important move in growing the company’s influence across Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland.
He said: “We are delighted with our new headquarters in Aberdeen which will be a huge benefit for our important work in the area. It is the first time our entire workforce in Aberdeen has been under one roof and all of our staff are really impressed with our new offices and training facilities.
“The team at Space Solutions were fantastic and really understood what we needed from our new Aberdeen office – from the individual staff workstations right through to the big new training areas we have on-site. They also ensured that the relocation was carried out with the minimum disruption to our business and that our staff could start to immediately reap the benefits of the move.”
“We were very impressed with the professionalism of Space Solutions and I would have no hesitations in recommending their services.”
Keith Guyan, project manager with Space Solutions in Aberdeen, said: “The main priority for us was to ensure that all of the staff at Optimus were able to move into this new office with the minimum of disruption to the business. We completed their office facilities on the upper floor first, which allowed them to move into the premises and start working even while we were still fitting out the training facilities on the ground floor.
“Optimus did not have any dedicated training areas in their last Aberdeen base, so this new headquarters will be very beneficial for them – as it means the firm can host seminars on-site rather than having to hire venues or use their client’s offices.
“We’re very pleased to have been able to carry out such a fast turnaround during this project and enabled the firm to have a state-of-the-art headquarters that will cement their position as a leader in their field.
“We have had excellent feedback from the firm over the project and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
